Datchet 4 v Stoke Green Cricket Club 4th XI on Sat 03 Aug 2019 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Lost by 4 wickets

Match report This week we played top of the league at our old 3rd team home ground at Windsor. Our useless tosser captain forgot his 2 sided coin and we lost the toss but for the 10th time running we batted first.

The duo of Ashish and Hannan opened once more but within 8 overs both were out to the same bowler. Ravi and Augi went some way to retrieve the situation with a partnership of 48 until Augi went to a fine edge to the keeper on 29. Our top run scorer Arun strolled to the wicket - the man in form - the man for the situation and 4 balls later he was walking back. Ravi followed shortly after having hit 22. We had gone from 71-2 to 84-5. Mark and Taher put on some runs together in a decent partnership of 30 - including the worst drinks break ever where one of the jugs tasted of Cough medicine!!!! The opposition had plenty to say and we were laughing and joking back. Though Taher was joking a bit less when Mark made him run a 3! When Taher spanked a full toss straight back to the bowler and Cho got stuck lbw it left Mark and Imran to try give us a total to defend. Imran was swinging hard - but connecting to little - though a big 6 was eventually smashed! He was out on scoring 14 with us on 161 and that's where our score would stay. Mark having batted for 17 overs for 44 was out next over caught and bowled and Raheem followed suit in the next over. We had set a decent total of 161

Tea was had with some bizarre sandwiches which we could not quite work out what they contained.

Out to field we opened with Cho and Mannan who bowled well. Mannan got an opener with a fine caught and bowled and Cho caught the other one with a ball trickling down to nudge the bail off. But their number 4 came in and was looking good. Ashish bowled superbly with little luck - he got an lbw but if he beat the edge once he beat it 30 times. The luck of the day was not ours as we again put down catches. The number 4 and his captain batted for a long time building up the score towards our target. Mark finally got the skipper trapped infront but they only needed 20 to win. Hannan then managed to get a ball to rip and clean bowl number 6 and Cho got the number 7 but it was all in vain. The number 4 had hit 77 not out and they surpassed our target with 14 balls remaining. We lost by 4 wickets

Next week sees our week off from the league and a nice friendly against Fulmer
