Slough 6 v Stoke Green Cricket Club 4th XI on Sat 13 Jul 2019 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Lost by 6 wickets

Match report The second half of the season took us to North Maidenhead to take on Slough 6s - this week Captain Taher was useless Tosser however we were still put into bat for the 7th match running.

Young 14 year old Tegh opened with Ashish and the going was slow to start - though wides were accumulating nicely. Ashish fell early having seen 8 wides go past him with 18 legal balls. We were 19-1. At his point we seemed a little desperate to push the slow run rate up. Ibrahim was promptly run out - and then so was Ravi. Maybe wait until the ball isn't near fielders lads? We were 33-3 off 15 overs and struggling. Then came a much needed partnership Arun joined Tegh and started hitting some mighty 4s and then Tegh got in the mood too. Tegh scored an impressive 50 off 95 balls - his first of many in adult cricket - and the partnership was 81 before Arun finally was caught out on 30. Amar came in and started well but he lost Tegh on 59 and then was out himself on 13. We were 134-6 with 7 overs to go and Captain and vice were at the wicket. Mark started hitting and slightly injured Taher was supporting well. They put on 50 in 6 overs before Mark fell on 33 in the last over and Taher end on 12 not out. We had set 189 - a good recovery.

Tea was very impressive - one of the best this year along with Wargraves!

We went out to field and the message was bowl tight, no wides. It was not heard! 27 wides were bowled by us in total! We did not bowl well. Latif opened with Gurpreet and Latif got an early wicket with a low catch to Mark. But runs were leaking and then a few catches went down followed by our heads. We were either too wide or too short. Amar got a wicket well held by Ibrahim but Munshi Hussain was hitting hard - we dropped him twice - he went on to smash 73. A guy who had to dash home after his innings came in and hit 6,4,6 and then got clean bowled by Tegh. Ashish finally got the main bat but all was too late. They went passed our total after only 27.4 overs.

Our first loss of the season - next week we need to bounce back at Home (Sefton) vs bottom of the league Newbury.
