Match report Our visit to Slough saw us arriving at a local sports ground but hunting for a cricket pitch. We never found one. In the middle of a football pitch was a slightly heavier mown area they called a pitch but with weeds cracks and loose stone it looked a minefield - infact it might have been in a previous life.

Stand in skipper mark lost the toss and they chose to bowl. I would say we batted but i'm not sure we did any of that. Sahib and Allen started us off but after a few 4s Sahib was gone to a straight one and then Charlie and Allen hung around together and pushed us to 47 but then Charlie missed a straight one and Allen followed soon to one that popped and caught him on the gloves. With Allen ending our top scorer on 19 it sums up the rest of the innings. Wickets fell regularly, only 4 made double figures, Luke ended on 11 not out. we had set 106 at least making triple figures

Tea was served - well some food was laid out - calling it tea was a push.

We went out to field trying some slow stuff to begin - Luke got an early wicket and some tough one handed catches went done. Moody snared the other opener before the new ball was taken. On came returning Usi for an amazing first over, after a 2 to start he then proceeded to clean bowl 3 of their players bowling fast and straight and giving the green some hope. A dropped catch off Charlie saw us still struggling and Ben then started a great spell of bowling. Tight and straight he ended with figures of 6 over 7 runs and finally took a wicket with his second last ball. But the target was ever in their reach! Augi grabbed the 7th wicket but we couldn't prevent the win, losing by 3 wickets to the new league leaders.

So half way through the season we sit 5th with a top 4 finish required to stay in division 8, no team has overly impressed and we have had some exciting finishes. Lets hope we can bring some wins to the second half and take the fight to the rest of the league.
