Match report The one with all the rain!

As we arrived at Beaconsfield for the last game of the season we knew they needed a good result to stay up and that rain was due about 4pm
Mark covered for skippy on tossing duty and promptly won and inserted ourselves into Bat.
Clive got us off to a good start with Allen putting on 58 together and then moved us to 103-3 with Augi before falling on 53. This prompted the much vaunted Stoke Green collapse! 5 wickets fell within 18 runs. And we were bowled out for 144 with only Clive and Ben able to hold their batting heads up high - Ben was faultless!

After a surprisingly good tea of more plenty than we were accustomed to at Beaconsfield we went out to defend our total knowing the rain was due!

Starting with the old ball the couple of tossers that are Mark and James opened the bowling and the heavens started to open as well.

2 very early wickets for Mark got us off to a buoyant start with catches to the safe hands of James and Charlie. After a couple of unfortunate drops It was the raindrops that were the worsening issue.
Mark then grabbed 3 more very quick wickets as we had them on the ropes at 35-5. The rain got heavier and heavier and as 2 of their normal 2s players recovered the score to 88 Mark then took a 6th with a surprise new ball! After a large debate - well more of a mass debate - it was decided that the unannounced new ball didn't require announcing and everyone should move on with the game! But alas the rain was the only winner as we never got playing again! The result unfortunately left Beaconsfield relegated and we finished 4th in the league.
