Stoke Green Cricket Club 3rd XI v Tring Park 4 on Sat 04 Jun 2016 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won by 76 runs
Match report
The one with Skippies 100
Losing the toss and being inserted was an unexpected gift, after some early wickets James and Imran arrived at the wicket and went about recovering from 94-4, in a partnership of 78 Imran scored a fine 36. But on this day James was not to be out done - he batted from over 8 until the end and hit a fine 104no - and we set a fine total of 253-7.
After our usual excellent tea we wobbled out to field to find a batsmen who was out to take advantage of Sefton size boundaries. He dealt in nothing but 6s. So the plan was - get the others out!!!! And do that we did, until Maz finally had him caught by Charlie on 80 - though we had dropped him 3 times already!
All our bowlers chipped in and a total of 7 dropped catches strung the match out longer than necessary. But finally after 44 overs we bowled out Tring Park for 177 and won by 76 runs.
