Match report In the last game of the season which meant nothing but an enjoyable game that was exactly what we got. With a pitch that had 2 rather large mud holes at one end that we had to remove some wallowing hippos from before we started, James won the toss and decided to bowl.
Billy and Charlie got to work quickly with 2 early quick wickets each, including a bowled Holdship, caught holdship. That theme continued as Charlie eyed up the third team ball with two more bowled holdship caught holdships with catches by Simon and Ben. After the tight start James then turned to give Beaconsfield some runs bringing on himself and Mark. Both got a wicket each in their 8 overs as Beaconsfield started to put up some resistence. The Holdship twins then got their first league overs and after some inconsistent starts Ben was very unlucky to not get one with 2 drops in one over and Luke did manage to get a breakthrough with a double bouncer that bowled a bewildered batsmen - google was consulted on its legality before the batsmen finally left. To finish off the innings Billy and Charlie came back to take a wicket each to bowl Beacnosfield out for 129 and Charlie finshed with excellent figures of 4-9.
Having angered the tea lady by asking for cups to drink our tea we went about our chase.
Shahib and Vijay put on a good opeing stand of 60 though if Vijay had hit ever swing that he aimed we would have been done and dusted already. Some collapsing followed as Once Sahib fell on 35 Vijay quickly followed as did Arjun and Luke.
Ben and Simon the sured up the ship for a while as Ben batted well for 20. And then as we passed the 100 the nerves came in, Simon and Ben fell, Mark followed quickly, Tahir and Billy scored a few together before they both fell leaving us 4 short of our target with only James and Charlie left. The nerves were jangling, the pants were brown but a James single, 2 wides and then a winning shot by Charlie saw us home!
