Stoke Green Cricket Club 3rd XI v Beaconsfield 3 on Sat 04 Jul 2015 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won by 106 runs

Match report This week saw Sefton unavailable so the search was on for an alternative home, so obviously we find a nice close place with no issues to get to - ah, not Stoke Green - the only place we could get was Harpsden near Henley, not too far away until we realised Henley regatta was this weekend also, prompt alternative directions hastily found. But once there we found a lovely ground bathed in gorgeous sunshine. Skippy tossed correctly for the 5th time running and in we went to bat. For the second week running Iffy and Idris decided using the bat to stop straight ones was overrated and were promtly bowled. And then something shocking happened, we proceeded to bat properly!!!! Sahib and Arjun put on 80 as sahib patiently hit 36. Simon decided at perform a magic trick and was quickly out with a piece of skill that would be hard to perform hitting the back of his bat on to his bad and then watched onto his stumps. James then came out and carried on the good early work as he and Arjun hit a 113 partnership as the temperature rose and one "spinner" got hit for 23 off his only over. Arjun alas was out out 2 short of his first Stoke Green century and was caught on 98, but a fine innings was scored. Skippy slipped past 50 as Augi hit some lusty blows for a quick 19 before skippy declared protecting his average again with 56no and we ended on 253-6.
After a lovely filling tea we lumbered out into the heat to start our attack. Charlie took an early wicket again bowling nice and straight, and then Tahir let a relatively simple catch go inorder to look better taking an amazing diving catch the next ball off Augi. After stalling slightly on the wicket front Mark came on and got 2 quickly out ct down leg side by Skippy at slip, and nicely in the deep by Arjun. We stalled again until the spin twins Skippy and Mark who neither spin it nor look like each other decided it was too hot and was time to get it finished, Mark got to 4 wickets and the Saw Skippy rattle out the last 4 to win the game by a comfortable 106 runs.
