Match report After a convincing win over local rivals slough, Stoke Green hosted rivals from last year Hayes. Hayes got the best of Stoke Green both times last year but with a good start to the season Stoke Green wanted to get one over Hayes.

After winning the toss, Hayes decided to bat first, Raja Ifraz and Shameera Weerasinghe opened the bowling with the new ball and Ifraz picked uo the first wicket early on. Hayes captain Kam Singh put the pressure on the Stoke Green bowlers and quickly took the score to 50 of 9 overs. Stoke Green then brought on Sajid Aziz who started by getting a quick two wickets and with spin partner Zulfi Butt they put the pressure on the Hayes batsman. With some tight bowling and lose shots, hayes were bowled out for 93 after 25.5 overs. Sajid Aziz picked up 5-32.

With 1 hour left before tea Stoke Green went out to chase a tricky target. Hayes opening bowlers bowled a tight line and Stoke Green were quickly reduced to 8-3 after 8 overs with Dan Simpson, Saud Ahmed and Syed Kazmi back in the pavilion. This brought Shameera Weerasinghe and Vishal Arjan together, they both punished the bad balls and ran between the wicket well. Weerasinghe put the pressure back on the Hayes bowlers by getting a few big overs and by the time tea came Stoke Green were 55-3 of 18 overs. Stoke Green came out after tea and carried on punishing the bad balls just as they did before tea, Arjan was caught out with the score on 70. Hash Hussain and Gully Khan came together to finish the game off in the 26th over. A special note to Weerasinghe who scored a crucial 47.
