Stoke Green Cricket Club 1st XI v Bagshot on Sat 17 May 2014 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won By 83 Runs

Match report After a great first win against Aldershot last week, Stoke green were hosting Bagshot for their first home game of the season.
Winning the toss, skipper Sukh Dhillon elected to bat first on a hot day. With Dan Simpson and Gully khan opening, Stoke Green got of to a brisk start hitting all the loose balls for boundaries until Khan got caught for 2 at square leg. Overseas star Weerasinghe came in at 3 and along with Simpson went about building a useful partnership. With Weerasinghe providing stability at one end, Simpson carried on hitting boundaries and putting pressure on the Bagshot bowlers. Simpson was caught for 36 with the total score on 40, playing a loose shot and top edging it to point. Chirag Desai who had a great game against Aldershot the week before was bowled of his 3rd ball without affecting the scoreboard. This brought Vishal Arjan to the crease and along with Weerasinghe they set about building a useful partnership. Arjan punishing the bad balls and Weerasinghe rotating the strike, Arjan was adjudged L.B.W with the score on 75. This led to a flurry of wickets and Stoke Green were bundled out for 133 of 44 overs. A special note for Weerasinghe who held the innings together with a patient 47.
With a quick turn around, Stoke Green had a 50 minute session before teas were served. With spin twins Zulfi Butt and Saj Aziz opening the bowling, they kept the pressure on the Bagshot batsman and with a lot of close calls being turned down they finally got a breakthrough with the score on 16. With two overs left before tea and the score on 27-1, Aziz bowled a game changing over snaring two wickets to leave Bagshot on 27-3 going in for tea. Stoke Green headed in for tea with more confidence and the total of 133 looking like a much bigger total now. After resuming play, Bagshot tried to counter attack their way out but with some clever bowling by both spinners and some sharp fielding by Stoke Green, Bagshot were all out for 50, with both spinners bagging 4 wickets a piece
