Match report The whole week prior to this game we had rain on and off which is always a worry as most if not all 3rd team Grounds dont have covers, so I was quite surprised to see wicket quite dry and in fairly good condition. I lost the toss and NPL elected to bat first. The first 20 overs we bowled quite poorly and NPl got to 100 with only the loss of a couple of wickets. We had drinks at about 21 overs and after giving the team a firm rollicking, Stoke Green 3rds kicked into action and we bowled them all out for 142. Both James and Harry made their Bowling debuts.... Harry getting the second highest scorer out and James helped stem the run rate and finshed on 3 for 17. Aqib only bowled 6 overs due to a ankle injury, and Gregs second spell was much better and he finished on 3 for 25.
In the end we manged to pull the game back after a poor start and were set 144 to win of 53 overs.

After a early Tea and the end of the rain we went to bat. Taimoor and Osama opened and it was a first ball exit for Osama who chased the ball outside off stump edging to the keeper. In came Adil who was also out cheaply after about 7 balls.... so at this point we had our two strongest batsmen at the crease Taimoor and James.... they started to pile on the runs and we got to 100 before James was caught out for 31. In came Greg who supported Taimoor. Taimoor gave us a batting master class hitting fours around the park and a glorious 6 straight down the ground. With only 2 runs to win Greg top edged to the keeper, and I was bought to the crease, I defended the first ball and hit my second ball for a four bringing us the our 3rd win the trott.

So a fairly comfortable win in the end with great batting from Taimoor, tight bowling from James and Greg and I must mention little Iffy who came in to the side last minute and he fielded really well. Last but not least it has to be mentioned Taher is now actually catching the ball and has really improved his keeping skills well done Taher!!!!
