Princes Risborough v Stoke Green Cricket Club 1st XI on Sat 06 Aug 2011 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won by 118 runs
Match report
After last weeks nail-biter, The Greens were hoping to bounce back this week against bottom placed Princes Risborough. SGCC were put into bat where openers Nadeem Chowdhry (28) and Clive Bourne (45) got off to a good start. Saud Ahmed then followed that up with a sublime innings, scoring 90. This laid a platform for Farhan Sheikh to then blast a quick-fire 23 as The Greens then finished with a total of 237-8d.
After scoring with the bat, Saud Ahmed then provided SGCC with a devestating opening spell where he bagged 3-3, resulting Princes Risborough to slump to 10-5 which included an amazing run out from Shalita Poruge. The home team then showed some resistance with the bat before Raja Ifraz cleaned up the tail by taking 4-40.
SGCC are now 42 points clear of second placed Burnham 3, and with 4 games to go that's pretty much secured promotion - however, we are in pursuit of the league title.
This also marks the last game for skipper Sukh Dhillon as he has exams for the last 4 games - what an amazing season at has been for him as captain, bagging 11 wins out of 14, with one game abandoned. Vice Captain Farhan Sheikh will take over for the next 4 weeks.
