Stoke Green Cricket Club 1st XI v Windsor 3 on Sat 21 May 2011 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won by 3 wickets
Match report
So, third league game of the season and SGCC has had a good start by winning the first two games against Sonning 2 and Marlow 2. However, this week, skipper Sukh Dhillon has got two major set backs as bowler Ifraz Raja (10 wickets in two games) and batsman Shoaib Muhammad were unavailable.
SGCC loss the toss and were asked to field where opening bowlers Irham Mughal and Gulfraz Raja provided them with a good start as Windsor 3s slumped to 26-4. However, a lower-middle order rescue allowed them to take the score upto 130-6. Gulfraz Raja ended up with figures of 16-6-49-5 with Irham Mughal also taking 4 wickets as Windsor 3s were all out for 171.
The run chase hadn't started well as both openers fell cheaply and SGCC were 12-2. It was Gulfraz Raja and wicket-keeper Nav Sahota who scored 45 and 44 runs, receptively, to get the run chase back on track as Steve McMullan also provided a handy knock of 25. However, quick wickets fell, and it was down to Irham Mughal who hit 3 consecutive 4s as he brought them home.
