Marlow 2 v Stoke Green Cricket Club 1st XI on Sat 14 May 2011 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won by 38 runs
Match report
The 1st XI team has been on a bit of a roll after winning games in the last 3 weeks. Second game of the season was at Marlow where SGCC were put into bat. However there was a complete turnaround from last week. This time there were without Nadeem Choudary (top scored with 44 last week) and for a moment it looked like they were heading for another collapse at 79-5 but Gulfraz Raja and Steve McMullan rescued them with achieving scores of 63 and 33, respectively. Gulfraz Raja had been pushed up the order after scoring 98 in the previous week on Sunday. Skipper Sukh Dhillon took the gamble and it worked. They finally were all out scoring 214 where it was then down to the 3 pace trio again to defend this total.
Marlow 2s looked comfortable chasing the score at 139-4 with nearly 20 overs to go, however, a breakthrough from Latif Khan set up a collapse and the Raja brothers got at it again to wipe out the tail. With Ifraz Raja finishing with figures of 14.4-3-48-6.
SGCC secured there second win of the season by 38 runs - 2 out of 2 now, thats joint first with 45 points!
