10 May 2019

The league season is finally upon us. New season, new players, new team (4th XI) and a renewed belief in having a successful season ahead.

The 1st XI is once again led by Sukh Dhillon (recently appointed Life Member of the club) as he takes his side away to newly promoted High Wycombe 2 in what is anticipated to be a tough first fixture. It will also see debuts to Drij Vyas, Jas Ghrial and Mohammed Nadeem.

Chirag Desai's 2nd XI begin life in Div 4b, following promotion last year, at home to Hillingdon Manor. The team will be looking to continue the momentum from the end of last season. A strong team for the Greens provide debuts to Tahir Kazmi & Amit Ghumman.

Newly appointed 3rd XI skipper, Gully Khan have a tough first fixture against local rivals, Burnham 4.The team will no doubt be full of confidence coming from the back of winning Div 8 in 2018 despite a real mixture of youth and experience. A welcome return to the club for Nugy Khan whilst the side sees debuts to Irtaza Shazad, Kamran Asghar and promising youngster Hasnaat Ali.

A real achievement for the club over the winter was to create a 4th XI side in the league for the first time in our history. Vice Captain, Mark Ward leads the side this week in the absence of Tahir Razaq as they begin life in Div 9a at home to Kidmore End 3. Plenty of new players make up the side with debuts to Muhammad Ali Raza, Ved Prakash, Pratik Jadhav & Tony Reely, our new groundsman. We also see the return of life member Latif Khan in the line up.

On Sunday we are able to field two sides. The Sunday 1st XI at are home to Kimble in the 2nd Round of The Cricketer Village Cup. The Sunday 2nd XI are away to Kingstonian Cricket Club who have kindly ensured they are able to host us. The side will be lead by Arun Shankaralingam.
