Match report Taher finally led his 4th team into battle as we went to Wargrave @ Knowl Hill cricket club, he immediately proved he was the best tosser there and put us into bat - after scores of 258 and 268 we were confident we could set a fine score. When Taher was out second ball, Sahib the next over and Augi in the 4th that confidence was dashed slightly. Arun and James put on 27 to try get us going but Arun fell on 19. Mark and James then tried to at least get us respectable but after putting on 24 Mark foolishly failed to hit over the top. James fell shortly after. We were fighting for ever run at this point. Mustafa hit a nice 4 but fell, Uzair did the same. Amar ran himself out. Leaving Ved and Gurpreet to just tickle us over the extra point mark at 100. Extras top scored with 23!

An amazingly huge tea stuffed us all -except the fasting lads - and we went out knowing we needed early wickets. 2nd ball from Mustafa saw the bails fly and our hopes raised. Then a run out soon followed as an attempted 2 to Sahib was not the thing to do, as the ball came in, Taher leapt like a Salmon to catch it and get the guy short. Uzair then got a nick to Taher and they were 15-3 and our thoughts of having hope were setting in. A partnership built, but only of 19 then Mustafa rattled their timbers once more. Skipper Taher saw it time for a change and on came the legend that is ex-3s captain James, genius! A rank half tracker was smashed to Mid-off and Augi took a fine catch first ball of his spell! James followed it shortly after with an edge to Sahib - clung to his shoulder without much of a choice! Their good bowler and smallest junior ever then tried to get something going, 18 runs came from them but james got the bowler meaning they were 57-7! A wicket for Mark - making a barrier with your bads infront of the stumps is not the wisest choice of shot - and we needed one more. James finally bowled one full and straight and the 4s bowled out Wargrave for 58!

A win by 42 runs - some wins come in strange ways!
