Match report Arriving at Hayes we were met with a lovely looking pitch and some great new facilities. Having been hit for +300 in the reverse fixture we won toss and chose to bat but the result turned out to be much the same!

Clive returned to the team for the first time this year and was straight back into form but our first 2 couldn't say the same, Allen and Idris went for 3 and 1. Augi then put on a partnership with Clive of 59. But a Stoke Green collapse is never far away and we went from 84-2 to 96-7 in 4 overs. Clive had hit 50 but like 7 others, he forgot to use the bat to prevent the ball hitting his stumps. James was luckily holding his end up as the potato picking was happening on the athletics track next to us. He and usi put on 35 and took us past the 125 but neither lasted and nor could ben so once again Luke was left stranded. We had scored 147.

Tea was excellent which was much appreciated - hats off to the Hayes boys.

We went out to bowl thinking 147 was at least a target to defend. We were wrong! Oh so wrong! They came out swinging and connecting. 18 overs later it was all over, James had managed to shock everyone and clean bowl a straight one but that was the only highlight as we fell to our third defeat in a row.
Next week - the return of Beaconsfield, always a highlight - things couldn't be lower at least!
