Match report The one where Taher finally got a stumping!

With the thirds league game forfeited and our first 25 points of season celebrated, we took to Sefton to play a friendly against div 9b farnham Common 3s.
With the threat of rain always around Skippy won toss and decided to field, and with our opening bowlers promoted to the 2s it was left to Charlie and young Raheem to open the bowling and although Charlie took an early wicket their opener and number 3 got going with some clean hitting. It was Ben Holdship coming on that got the break through with some very tight bowling and a fine underarm catch by Imran. It also led swiftly to a moment that will forever be held in Stoke Green 3s fokelore as the number 4 took a swing and a walk out of his crease for Taher to aim and shoot and get his first ever stumping prompting a third team pile on celebration much to confusion of the opposition.
Their opener went on to hit a good 86 but good bowling by Uresh and James kept wickets tumbling at the other end and a target of 186 was set with the rain approaching.

After a great tea we went out to bat in the rain and got off to a great start with Shoaib and Adeel hitting some big 6s putting on a 101 opening partnership as the rain got harder. We came off for a short while and Farnham were very unwilling to come back out knowing what was ahead. Rahul carried on the positive batting after Adeel was out on an unclapped 53 - the scorebook counted it at 49 - Shoaib was out on 61 after Luke Holdship representing the oppo had him caught off a dubious height ball not called by his uncle and after the quick removal of Imran and Charlie it was left to Taher and Rahul to finish off the innings.
