Tring Park 4 v Stoke Green Cricket Club 3rd XI on Sat 06 Aug 2016 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Lost By 32 runs
Match report
The one with the collapse!
On a lovely sunny day we travelled to Tring in high spirits and when James won the toss and inserted us into the field we carried this high spirits into our bowling.
Usi and Billy opened with fine spells, ripping through the upper order. Only their guest number 4 was able to make any runs. Charlie continued the good bowling with 2 wickets and Mark eventually got the number 4 but it was usi and Billy ending with 4 and 3 wickets respectively that meant we were only chasing 130
In reply all was looking good, 1st time league player Bala edged his way to 17 and he and Taimoor put on 46 for opening partnership before Bala was poorly run out. Clive then pushed the score forward and at drinks we were 76-1 and then it fell apart! Clive and Taimoor were both out to a grenade thrower who was throwing them straight and unfortunately stopping the ball with your legs is not allowed! From then on it was farsical! 3 lbws, one silly run out and 2 whole outs saw us skittled out for 98 to give Tring their first win of the season and more or less finish our chance of promotion
