Match report With half the season gone Stoke Green hosted Aldershot for the return fixture, At the start of the game the home team sat at the top of Division 2B by a clear 67 points.

Winning the toss, Sukh Dhillon had no hesitation in choosing to bat, the Aldershot bowlers started extremely well, bowling a good line and length and after 9 overs, Stoke Green were 10 for no loss. Dan Simpson was out early this week and Saud Ahmed scored a solid 28 opening the batting but could not push on from his start. Arjan and Gully Khan departed without affecting the scoreboard and this left Stoke Green on 43-4. This brought Hash Hussain and overseas star Weerasinghe together. They both counter attacked and with Hussain punishing every bowler, Weerasinghe played a supporting role. Hussain quickly brought up his 50 and with the score now pushed up to 150 of 33 overs, Weerasinghe departed making a patient 33. With the support of the rest of the batting line up, Hussain carried on pushing the score and reached his 100 in the 42nd over. Stoke Green declared after 47 overs with the score on 224. Hussain remained unbeaten on 120.

Stoke Green decided to start with the old ball, Aziz took the first wicket in the first over but Aldershot showed a lot of character and kept pushing the score forward. With the score on 60-3 in the 18th over, Stoke Green decided to take the new ball and struck straight away with Butt claiming another 5 wickets. With Aldershot on 120-8, the game seemed to be lost but both batsman attacked the spinners and pushed the score to 180-8, needing 45 to win of 8 overs. Raja Ifraz and Zulfi Butt then claimed the last 2 wickets to bowl Aldershot out for 185 thus giving Stoke Green another 25 points. With Zulfi Butt claiming 6-95.

This has given Stoke Green a solid 79 point lead at the top of the table.
