Match report On a lovely summers day we finally got a win after 3 straight draws!! The day started with the usual pitch inspection which resulted in Trevor running of and borrowing one of the mowers from the groundsman!!! He saw a mower and just could
not resist!!

I lost the toss and to my surprise they put us into bat!!
The innings started quite bad as we lost Taimoor and Idris in the first four overs. But with Trevor holding one end and James scoring quite freely at the other end our innings was taking shape. After losing Trevor good old Simon (Mr reliable) went in and joined in on the run spree. James batted really well with some awesome shots and finished with 89 runs. Simon finished with 56 Not out with Moody chipping with a quickfire 38. I declared at 45 overs.

After tea and plenty of fluids we were replenished and were ready for our stint in the field.

We started with Latif and Moody bowling with the old bowl and as expected they took a couple of early wickets. If you ever have a chance to play in team that has Moody and Latif in it you are in for an entertaining game, the old veterans just love having a dig at each other!!! The wickets fell quite steady but the overs were catching up on us and Trevor getting increasingly more worried and tense I took the new ball and bought on the quicker bowlers Gregg and Aqib. With everyone getting wickets we had one wicket left and the oppositions skipper was not in a rush to finish the game. But in the 40 over and with the whole team all fielding in close Latif finally got their skipper LBW.

All in all a good game of cricket, great batting from James and Simon, outstanding fielding in the slips from Imran Sheikh, and a solid bowling performance from the bowlers. Kidmore End we are coming for you.....!!!
