Stoke Green Cricket Club 1st XI v Eversley 2 on Sat 28 Jul 2012 at 13.00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won by 65 runs

Match report Firstly, apologies for no match report last week, but Man Of The Match Richard Parker was tweeted on his magnificent 8-fer. (If you really wanted match report, then here it is - "Parker ripped through Bracknell by taking 8 wickets.").

This week, table toppers Greens were faced with Eversley as the home team were looking to extend their league at the top of the table. They were also without keeper Nav Sahota due to a knee injury. Eversley won the toss and put SG into bat. Skipper Sukh Dhillon eyed up 25 points.

However, The Greens did not get off to a good start as they were reduced to 14-2 as openers Gully Khan (7) and Clive Bourne (0) fell early. A grinding innings was required by the home team as Tim Gillham batted for over an hour for his 13. All-rounder Saud Ahmed also kept his head down as he made his way to a quality half-century. Vishal Arjan came and went quickly for 6 as Raja Ifraz looked to score runs from the word go. Ahmed fell for 56 before drinks as Ifraz became the backbone of the innings and needed to bat right through. Wickets were falling but with colt Saqlain Basharat's help, The Greens managed to push the score past 200 when skipper Dhillon decided to declare. Ifraz remained unbeaten with 66*.

In reply, Richard Parker continued his great form with some accurate bowling, this gave Parker his first wicket, bowling opener Mission. After an intial 4-over burst from Saud Ahmed, he was replaced by Dahron Pitt, which worked because he took 2 in 2 balls in his 4th over. Pitt took another 2 overs later with Parker also getting his 2nd, a nick to keeper Khan. Parker then took his 4th as Eversley were reduced to 85-7. With the win out of sight, Eversley looked to battle out the rest of the overs. It was time to 'buy' a wicket so Dhillon brought himself on as he trapped Lazenbury leg-before in his 3rd over. Raja Ifraz then clean bowled the last 2 batsmen and Eversley were dismissed for 136.

The Greens lead now extends by 29 points and they will host 2nd placed Kew next week - it is going to be a vital game.

MoM: Raja Ifraz Khan - 66* and 2-11

*Stoke Green - 25 points*
