Stoke Green Cricket Club Sunday XI v Ramgharia CC on Sun 31 Jul 2011 at 14:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won by 4 runs
Match report
Another hot, sunny day and Stoke Green witnessed another high scoring game on Sunday. The Greens won the toss and elected to bat first where Tim Gilham (65) got off to a flyer, demolishing the opening bowlers. Irham Mughal chipped in with 38, as skipper Farhan Sheikh also blasted his way to 60. Javed Aziz also provided the home team with a controlled knock of 37 as Saud Ahmed and Billy Hunter finished the innings off with a few lusty blows making 29* and 21*, respectively. The Greens had finished on a total of 262-5 after 40 overs.
In reply, Ramgharia CC got off to a flying start as they were 82-2 after 10 overs. Irham Mughal and Saud Ahmed provided breakthroughs to expose the lower order. The game then got to a close finish as runs were scored quite freely meaning Ramgharia CC needed 6 of 6 balls. It was then down to Saud Ahmed who bowled a tight last over where he ran the last batsmen out to end the ennings, leaving them 5 runs short.
