Burnham 3 v Stoke Green Cricket Club 1st XI on Sat 28 May 2011 at 13:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets
Match report
SGCC has won their first 3 games and are up against, probably, the toughest opponents on their home turf. SGCC also welcomes back Farhan Sheikh and Amir Shah for their first league game and absentees Shoaib Muhammad and Ifraz Raja. Burnham 3s won the toss and decided to bat first, trying to replicate their previous weeks total of 305.
The home team had got off to a slow, but solid start. Ifraz Raja then bowled a long spell where he picked up 3 wickets. However, Amir Shah bowled an excellent spell on his first game has he picked up 4-28. Burnham then scraped there way to a decent total of 188.
SGCC got off to a spectacular start as openers Nadeem Choudary and Clive Bourne put on a first wicket partnership of 145 off just 21 overs. Clive Bourne was then out 2 runs short of his 50, whereas his partner went on to score 107* - including 7 consecutive balls hit for boundaries.
SGCC then secured there fourth, and rather convincing, win in a row.
