Stoke Green Cricket Club Sunday XI v HC Trotters on Sun 03 Jul 2011 at 14:00
Stoke Green Cricket Club Won by 4 wickets
Match report
After two losses in a row for Sunday skipper Farhan Sheikh, he was hoping to turn things around and go back to the old winning ways.
SGCC were asked to field first where it was a one man show by A.Freshney (92). After a good 3rd wicket partnership, wickets were taken regularly by Sukh Dhillon and Ray Hasioszyn (2 a-piece) to keep them in check. A devastating spell from 'death bowler' Mahmood Akhtar just finished the innings off as he ended up with figures of 4.1-0-25-4.
In reply The Green got off to a poor start as they were struggling on 38-4. However, it was a controlled innings from Sukh Dhillon (79) that formed a 131 run partnership with Tim Gilham (25) that brought SGCC right back in the game as Mahmood Akhtar then smashed a straight 4 to end the run chase.
